| This month I will talk about the correct way to service your dryer and washer motors and electronic inverters. When cleaning a motor never use compressed air to clean the vents Also, when you service the dryer fan motor that would be a good time to clean the fan blade. Lint build-up causes fan to go out of balance which can damage the fan or motor. If you don’t keep the fan clean, they go out of balance and can burn out the motor. Most newer washers and dryers now have an inverter which is a device that changes direct current to alternating current and runs the motor. There are vents to protect the inverter and there may be a filter to prevent lint buildup—clean filter and vents with a vacuum. |
